PRC Guild Information

Mission Statement

For guildmembers we want to provide a source of constructive feedback on their taming character and a trustworthy, reliable group of friends. For non-members we try to set a consistent example of tamers in a positive role. For members and non-members alike, we offer a chance to be involved in ad hoc adventures within our taming community.

For the experienced tamer we want to offer a pool of mature, socially capable peers to adventure with, discuss and experiment with taming related issues and changes, and to share taming tips and information in a cooperative, supportive environment. Information sharing and joint efforts in developing new taming and hunting methods are a crucial part of our community.

For the developing tamer, we want to offer mentors to help and encourage them as they develop their character and demonstrate to them advanced taming methods, provide a group of peers (developing tamers) that they can share their accomplishments with, a source of reliable information about the current state of taming, and the opportunity to visit the more difficult taming and pet hunting areas.

Rules of Conduct

as a Guild Member

  • PRC expects you to be a responsible, self-sufficient citizen. While all PRC members are expected to help a fellow guildmember in need, it is also expected you do not exploit the generosity of your guildmates.
  • As a member of PRC it is your responsibility to dedicate time to guild activity. PRC members should make every attempt to attend as many guild activities as possible to maintain "in good standing". Members who do not maintain, "in good standing" may be expelled from the guild.
  • PRC does not support the exploitation of flaws in the game mechanics. If you feel you have to experiment with the latest exploit to gain an unfair advantage over people in the game who do not cheat, PRC is definitely the wrong guild for you.
  • Don't constantly bug higher-level tamers for free pets if you can't tame them yourself yet. Don't bug them about giving or trading you a pet you would like to have. You will tend to get on people's nerves, and they may consider it rude being asked for dragons, wyrms or nightmares all the time. If you would like a pet, feel free to post on the PRC Message Forum.

as an Ethical Tamer

PRC is a tamer-only guild and therefore upholds certain traditions of courteousy towards other tamers. We expect the following of our members. Not practicing ethical conduct may result in immediate action, up to removal from the guild, without discussion:

  • While taming for skill gain, do not release your pets unrenamed, unless you kill them immediately. The best way to rename a creature is to add your "tag" at the end of the name (e.g. "a white wolfAAnkTh), so other people can tell it has been tamed previously.
  • Do not disrupt other people's taming attempts or try to "steal" what they are currently trying to tame. This includes, but is not limited to, behavior such as making taming attempts on the creature, killing animals used to keep other creatures away from the taming area, disrupting the taming attempt by leading the creature to be tamed around, leading other creatures into the area, and attacking or blocking the tamer.Other tamers are working just as hard as you to get gains or tame a particular creature, so respect their efforts.
  • Do not "hog" popular monster spawns (e.g. Lich Lords, Blood Elemental, Poison Elemental etc.) with a high-level pet so other people can not participate. As a tamer, you have a lot more power than a warrior with just a weapon. If the spawns are crowded with people who are not willing to take turns, just leave and go hunting somewhere else.
  • Do not steal other people's kills. This is completely unacceptable behavior. We all know a pet can jump in on somebody else's fight, but it is your responsibility to avoid this. As a good tamer, you should have sufficient control over your pet of choice to command it away. If it does happen, apologize to the person and explain what happened.
  • Do not hunt in popular spawn areas with a pet you can barely control. If you feel you absolutely must have a dragon (or other high-level pet) trail along behind you at a level where you do not have sufficient control yet, take it to hunting grounds where you won't disturb other people.
  • Be polite if people want to ask you taming-related questions. If you are in a hurry or don't feel like explaining things very much in detail, let people have the URL to our taming page and tell them about all the ressources posted there.

As a general rule, do not abuse the power you have as a tamer. Refrain from actions that will give tamers a bad name, be polite and help others.
